Hi all,
As we explore launching our Performing Arts season (at some point) this year, we are thinking about different pricing models. Our marketing department is interested in dynamic pricing, and we're also thinking about a pay what you can model. I'm wondering if anyone who has used these models might be able to share their experiences?
With dynamic pricing, what is involved from a box office perspective? I'm particularly concerned about how this might complicate any returns or exchanges, since everything is so uncertain at the moment. I know that there are some clear options within Tessitura to set up dynamic pricing which should help to alleviate some of the return/exchange issue. Also, do people generally use an outside service to help with the price change decisions? Or is that something your marketing department decides on using analytics?
For pay what you can, what has been your experience? This seems like a great way to be really transparent about giving more as a way to support the organization, but also allowing access to those who may be in difficult financial situations, especially now.
Thanks so much for your perspectives on this! I know everyone is busy with so many changes happening right now.
Liz
