SYOS Social Distancing?

In a recent discussion with colleagues in live ticketed events a question in social distancing sales came up: In Tessitura or TNEW, is there a utility or patchwork of tools already in place so that after a user in SYOS selects the seats they want, a determined number of the unsold seats to the left, right and front are put on hold? The sought for outcome being (1) to automatically create social distance between all orders (this could be done in a purchase placed with a staff member, but that's a pricey channel of sale) while (2) maximizing the capacity of a socially distant house by keeping households together and (3) allowing patrons to still select their own seats?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum channel for this question, this is a query a bit outside my usual element.

  • I’m considering changing our current SYOS house for a show that’s already on sale into Gen Admin and cutting capacity by 50%. Then ushers can make sure people are spacing out night of show.

Will you be able to change the seat map with the new easily change date/time functionality? What would happen to patrons’ seats that have already been assigned and tickets mailed?

  • Hi Shelley,

The new event moving window being introduced in 15.1.10/15.0.17 only affects the event date, and the related entitity dates, like MOS, pricetype, offers, and a few more. The purpose of the window is specifically suited to moving the performance itself, not adjusting any orders or existing tickets for the event, or changing the seat map. The seat map can still be changed using normal tools, just not from the new window that affects the dates.

The seats and tickets already assigned would still work, so they wouldn't need to be reissued unless patrons needed to be move or re-seated
