What happens to the funds after Donate for Resale?

I looked at the community forum regarding this question, but it's 11 years old, and the links giving information are outdated. What happens to the funds when a seat is donated for resale? Where would I find information on that? How does it affect reports?

    It stays in the performance revenue, not considered a contribution. That’s how it’s possible to oversell the house. If you sell out a 100 seat house, donate for resale 1 ticket then resell it you’ll see 101 tickets sold in Box Office reports (if you select Yes to include donated seats).
