Hello All,
I've been away from the Tessitura Community for a few years so please humor my ignorance. :-) Is there a way to have a percentage discount applied to a price type round up/down to the nearest whole dollar when all the base prices are not whole dollars and vary zone by zone. I'd rather not have to build a new price if I don't have too. Many Thanks!

Jennifer,
This should be possible by the setting up a Discount. I guess there are a few things to consider:
There's also Pricing Rules which does a lot of this work auto-magically.
If you'd care to flesh out the scenario, it'd be easier tpo provide some suggestions....
Hope this finds you well in these strange, uncertain times.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for replying! This is just for box office sales (phone, walk-up). I was hoping it could be manually selected in the ticket order using the price details>Apply discount functionality. With a facility fee and ticket price that are both not whole dollars, I can't seem to "trick" it into rounding up to the whole dollar. And, we'll need to report on the discounts at the season and performance level. More and more I'm thinking building a new price type will be the simplest way to go.

Hi Jennifer,
Discounts aren't going to work in this scenario as there isn't the option for rounding. They also don't work on Fees.
Pricing rules have the ability to have the ticket price rounded - they can be prompted by the use of a specific source code. However, they don't have the ability to automatically apply a fee.
Fees themselves have the ability to be based on many things including ticket prices and being able to be rounded.
This means that (I believe) there's no magic solution to have ticket prices and fees adjusted easily. I'm betting there is a relatively elegant solution using both fees and promo codes though. If you were able to flesh out the scenario more fully (feel free to email me directly martin.keen@nida.edu.au) I would happily try and offer some help with this.
Hope you had a restful and enjoyable Easter!
