Limited Seats online

Hello.  We have a promoter that would like to offer an online promotion where a patron would get four tickets for the price of three.  Is there a way to ensure that they can only purchase tickets in batches of four?

  • Hi Chris

We offer a similar thing with our members' tickets, whereby the quantity of tickets is locked-down depending on the constituent's membership level. 1 ticket for single, 2 for joint, and 4 tickets for family members.

This functionality is hardcoded into the web API and not in anyway governed by the Tessitura application. With this in mind it's probably worth having a conversation with your web developers.

  • One of our consortium members had an interesting workaround to this dilemma.  They created a one-show package where the cost of a ticket was actually equal to the price of 3.  There was language on the page to state that every one (Family pack) they purchased actually got them 4 tickets.  The package was left unseated and when an order came in the box office would delete this dummy seat and use the balance to buy the four real seats in the correct show.  It took little, if any, work on the part of the web developers.
