Wait Lists - any great ideas

We take wait lists for certain general admission events, like school shows, masterclasses and other types of workshops. Currently we create a separate performance for each wait list and then move them into the "real" event if they clear the wait list.

The Help documentation suggests using Special Requests but I'm not finding many ways to get much output so I'm not sure I want to pursue that much further.

We would like to use the same seat map for wait lists so I'm thinking price zones might be the way to go.. Does anyone use price zones to manage wait lists?

Or failing that, how about unseated line items? (If you do unseated line items, can you share what the Security settings are that allow them? So far I have come up short.)

Thanks very much,

Aileen

  • While we don't have waitlists we did modify an idea for our member ticketing from a TLCC presentation on waitlists from a few years back (it might have been mini-magic). You can create a waitlist MOS that allows unseated line items. When you are ready to fulfill a waitlist you can do an order search on the waitlist MOS and sort the orders by date entered. You then select the order you want, flip the MOS to the correct one, seat and pay off the order. We use it to line up our member ticket requests ahead of an onsale.
