Implementation help!

TNEM is a UK consortium and we're aiming to go live early in 2011. We're just working out how we operate during the implementation in terms of the make-up of the project team and the steering team. Are there any other consortia out there who could offer some advice about getting the right people involved at the right level and at the right time? Any advice on what worked for you, or issues to look out for would be great.
