Bad Address Batch Adjustment

Does Tess offer any Data Management utility tools that we can run if a volunteer were to create a csv or xls file of Tess ID#s that can be uploaded to batch adjust primary addresses? Any other org using volunteer work to do data cleanup?

We get a lot of returned mail and looking for ways to make Bad Addresses a quicker task.Thank you in advance!

  • We use the NCOA process through Zeta Global (they are an ecosystem partner). Their costs are incredibly reasonable and they use the NCOA update utility in Tessitura. It is very easy to do. Before you do this, I would HIGHLY recommend updating the TR_STATE system table. There are errors in it for two letter state codes and state descriptions for USA. The following changes should be made to ensure that the NCOA works correctly. This is all based on USPS.com and their listing of states.

AA - Armed Forces of the Americas

AE - Armed Forces of Europe

AP - Armed forces of the Pacific

FM - Federated States of Micronesia

    MP - Northern Mariana Islands

Inactivate TT - Trust Territories (this hasn't been used since the early 90's)

Other than that, the whole process is slick and quick. It usually takes Zeta about a day to get us back our files to upload back into Tessitura.

I'd second that, and add a recommendation to update TR_CITYSTATE. Not sure if it's still the case, but at one time that table arrived from the network with c. 2001 data.
