Rolled Over Subscription Orders and Add-ons via TNEW

Hello!

My organization is looking at offering a discount to our holiday show when someone renews their subscription online.  The trick is that I can't seem to get the discount to apply to the Holiday show after the user has added their renewal to the cart.  I know that rolled over subscriptions are a different animal in TNEW since they are already existing orders. They themselves can't be manipulated by a pricing rule or offer, but my assumption (perhaps incorrectly) is that if we are adding something brand new to the order that as long as it is in the same MOS and source, a pricing rule can be applied to the new lineitem added to the order.

I have tried to apply a discount via pricing rules, promo code and offers and nothing.    Is any sort of discounting or price changing on a rolled over order impossible?

Before I submit a ticket, I figured I would pick your collective brains.

Thanks!
Kristine

  • Hi Kristine,

You should be able to have an Add On rule trigger on a rollover order when the holiday show is added to the order. Have you tested your Add On rule on a new package order in the application? That is where I would start. If it works in the application with a new order, then you know the basic mechanics are set up correctly. I would also test it out in the application on a rollover order. If all is good there, then you can focus your troubleshooting on the web side of things.

A few things I can think of to check to start: has the rule been added to a rule set associated with the mode of sale the rollover orders use? what's the active date on the rule (if you roll over with a date populated then you'll need to be sure the rule active dates include that date)? Is there a source code set on your rollover orders that doesn't qualify for the rule?

If none of that helps you get the rule working, I would definitely open a help ticket.

  • Kevin, thank you so much! There was something clearly incorrect in my set up! I have been able to get this to work.  Thanks!
