Hi all,
Apologies if you're seeing this for the second time but I should have posted in global rather than EU!
We're looking into making the shift to eticket-first as our default ticketing method - including in-person sales. A little digging around in the help means we've now found how to generate etickets for in-person orders but, being museums, we run a huge number of on-the-day sales with high volume queues and our FoH teams use QuickSale for speed (rather than Order Details) on 99% of orders.
Unfortunately, "Finish" on QuickSale isn't the same as "Done" on Order Details and is prompting a physical ticket print even on orders set to Eticket.
Though we can go from QuickSale to Order Details to make use of the functionality and be "done" with the order - has anybody had any luck with sending Etickets direct from the QuickSale screen?
Many Thanks,
Chris
Unfortunately I believe QuickSale is always set to print a physical ticket! It was made that way with the assumption that it would be used only as an in-person tool where you would always want a physical ticket. If anyone has a workaround for this I would like to know as well--because QuickSale is so much easier to use we do most of our transactions there, even phone orders where we would like to send a PAH ticket. Our practice is to finish the sale in QuickSale, then load the order again in order details, and send a PAH ticket there. But it is very wasteful of ticket stock. Alternatively we do the same as you Chris, going from QuickSale to Order Details and then Done the order over there.
We haven't switched to an Eticket but we have separate quicksale menus for different modes of sale. You can set the delivery method to print at home and that should have it send the order upon completion.
Excellent, thanks Neal!!
Another option could be to use keyboard shortcuts to quickly go from QuickSale and select Done on the Order Details screen. This assumes the order is completed except for clicking Done instead of Finish.
Crtl+L and then Alt+d
When you click the Alt button, a letter in the word Done will get underlined, press that letter on the keyboard. I’m away from my desk right now, so it may not be D.
After the order is done, the cashier could then hit Ctrl+Q to get back to QuickSale.
The keyboard shortcuts can be typed in quick succession: Ctrl+L, Alt+d, Ctrl+q
Unfortunately that didn't work! It still prints tickets in QuickSale even when PAH is the default!
