bulk-building packages

Hi everyone,

 I’m hoping you can verify some assumptions I have about packages before I tell my users certain things are/aren’t currently possible:
 

  • Is it true that there’s no way around the Product Creation Utility creating new perfs (that there’s no way to bulk-build daily packages with pre-existing performances).
  • Am I correct in thinking that I cannot use a composite ticket for Admission ticket + upsells set up through pricing rules
  • There is no bulk-edit of packages (if we need to add a new perf group, for example)

If I'm right about these (always good to double check with the hive mind), I'll definitely be submitting some enhancement requests!

    Hi Kathleen,

    I asked support about your first question just the other day and they confirmed that you cannot bulk create packages without creating the associated performances. You also can't bulk edit packages -- i.e. you can't add a new perf group or edit the content screen all at once. This would have to be done one by one. I submitted a feature request on that one. :-) Maybe if more of us do it they will put it higher in the queue.

    We don't use composite tickets or use upsells, so I can't speak to your second question.

    Hello! These are great things to look into as you develop your approach to package inventory. I can confirm your research is all correct:

    • The Product Creation Utility must create packages and their underlying performances at the same time.
    • Composite tickets can only be attached to packages, so pricing rules cannot use them.
    • The composition of packages cannot be edited in bulk, although Season Maintenance does allow for editing some other aspects of packages.
