Tracking new vs. renewed subscriptions

Hello,

I wanted to see how folks are tracking new versus renewed subscriptions in tessitura.  We are thinking of using the comp code as a way to handle this.  One issue I am seeing with this is I did not notice that the web api offers way to assign comp code subscription sale.  If I am wrong about that please correct me.  But I wanted to see what everyone else is doing.

  • We track new vs. renewing with the appeal category.  We have a renewal appeal and an acquisition appeal.  Additionally, since we don't use promo codes with subscriptions on the web we know that any package sale with the default web source code is a new order.

    Using this method does mean that if a subscriber adds additional subscription seats they get coded as a renewal, but for our purposes that is fine.
