Adding a note to a customer record

Hello!

Was looking for a wee bit of advise, how do I add in a comment to a constituent record?

  • There are lots of different fields and it depends what you want to record really - if it's attached to an order you can add a note in the Notes field on that order.

    After that it really depends on what you want to do and how your organisation wants to set things up.

    The easiest place to do this is the Notes radio button within the research tab, although you could add it as a Customer Service Issue depending on what you want to record. Lots of other areas have notes fields too (you can also record notes against Activities, Events ...)

  • Here are our basic rules:

    1.  If it does not require a response or action by the Houston Symphony, use Research/Notes

    2.  If it's a Ticketing issue, use Contacts/CSI Notes.   Follow-up with a task or tickler

    3.  If it's a Contribution issue, use Contacts/Solicitation Notes.  Follow-up with a task or tickler

    There are exceptions, of course, and not everyone follows these rules, but this has helped.
