Booking marquee covers online - new facilities

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice. We've recently set up 2 dining marquees for which we can sell covers in a similar way to restaurant bookings with one sitting.

We now want to make these available to sell online but are having some issues. Both are set up in their own facility with tables laid out.

We currently manage bookings by telephone and in one marquee if a table isn't full when booked we use hold codes to block off remaining spaces.

In the other marquee (the less expensive option) we only want parties to share if the marquee is full as it’s also available free to customers if space is available on the day.

We previously had the marquees set up as GA maps which worked fine online but the front of house team setting up the marquees found it difficult managing tables without customers being allocated table numbers.

I’ve read various threads where people have use scripts to block off seats and web customisation. Any advice at all would be very welcome!

Thanks,

Daisy

    Hi Daisy!

We have a restaurant that we book through Tessitura as if it were a show as well. We us a Service Interceptor to place blackout holds on any extra seats at a table. We also set up some fancy contiguity and best available maps so that the smaller tables would seat smaller parties and larger parties were only at the larger tables. I have done a couple TLCC presentations on it.

I am out of the office until next week, but I would be happy to chat about it next week if it would be helpful.
