Hi all,
I am new to working with Tessitura and am trying to set up a BOGO discount of sorts for a rental event.
A single GA ticket costs $25 or two GA tickets cost $40. I am following the steps as best I can from the help site/tessitura grad library and I am not having luck . I am using v12.5.
I am wondering if anyone has their own step by step instructions on how to create this type of price rule? I tried following directions in a few other posts, but am afraid that much of the lingo is outside of my comfort zone.
Thank you in advance for your help!!
Kim
So, if you want this offer to be available online as well, you want to make sure that the price type you are using, for example, BOGO, is tied to the primary mode of sale for the website as well as ticket sales.
Make sure that you go to modes of sale and make sure that you have a pricing rule selected for your primary mode of sale for the website as well as ticket sales.
Add the BOGO price type to the show with a zero balance.
Create a promo code with the sole purpose of blocking this price type from being seen on the website
Add the promo code to the website mode of sale that is just a blocking source code that you can attach to this price type so no one will see it online.
Create a promo code for the BOGO offer for the pricing rule (if that's how you want to advertise it).
Under Pricing Rules choose the Type of Buy One Get One
Add your Category, Appeal and Sources
Under Action choose the Price Type Change
The New Price Type would be BOGO
Under Criteria add the performances you want this to apply to
For Ever 2 seats
At the Full price type (or whatever price type you're using)
Apply the Rule to 1 of 999 seats.
Go to Pricing Rule Sets to go to the primary mode of sale for the website and move the pricing rule from available pricing rules column to the associated pricing rules column
I would do this in your test environment first just to make sure things are working the way you want them to.
If all else fails you can always reach out with a task ticket for further assistance. Or someone might explain this better than me.
Thank you for your reply Amber!
I found out that part of my issue was that the existing Price Rule Sets are not configured properly and now that I have resolved that everything is working! But, I am going to save your explanation with my notes because it is a nice and simplified version of what I was referencing.
