I am setting up some Pay-What-You-Can performances and wondered if anyone has done this for online sales?
If so I would really appreciate some advice on best practices for doing this or any pointers to documentation on this subject.
Thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
Using editable pricing for pay-what-you-can on the web requires custom website coding. Your site would have to be coded to prompt constituents with a field to enter a price and then process that information correctly. The Web API method exists (UpdateSubLineItemPrice) to make this work, but if your website isn’t coded to use it (which it likely is not because its relatively new) then you can’t use editable pricing on the web.
There may be more creative ways to offer pay what you can on the web using standard features, like setting up many different price types that a constituent can choose from (more choose-what-you-want than pay-what-you-can). Hopefully some users out there will have some experiences with creative solutions to share with you.
To read up on editable pricing, or anything else about pricing, check out the Ticket Pricing document.

Hi Kevin,
Many thanks for your reply.
The “Pay What You Want” suggestion seems an ideal work round until we can get the Web API work completed.
