Hello!
Our theater is interested in creating a policy for unaccompanied minors attending our shows. Currently, we have no policy in place and this puts added responsibility and stress onto our Front of House team. Does anyone else have a policy in place and/or any pushback/complaints they have received from patrons? Any input is much appreciated!
Hi Autumn,
For reference from us, we have a policy that no under 16's are admitted, our wording is: We cannot accept responsibility for the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children, so children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Our Box Office stress this with our patrons and we also follow this up if someone buys a child ticket online with no other tickets to check if they are attending with friends/family in another group or if they were unaware of our policy. It's been in place for at least 6 years, we haven't had any major push back, customers have mostly just purchased an adult ticket to attend with their child. It becomes mostly an issue at Christmas with our pantomime.
Best
