Group Sales Sales Goals

I'm wondering if anyone is willing to share how they set goals for group sales?  Are your sales goals per performance based on number of groups, a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of total sales?  Or do you measure on a per season or per semester basis? 

In the past, we have used a flat percentage rate. However, we are finding more and more that, because of the many different types of performances we present, a flat percentage was not a helpful metric.  We want to find a way to measure group sales in a meaningful way, so we're hoping to get some insight on how other organizations do it!
