Hello Tessiturians,
This came to me in a house report from last night:
“We started late because we had 18 people who needed special attention in seating. Four of them required accessible seating locations. Can we give me a heads up when we sell an accessible location for a wheelchair?”
I checked around and it looks like the best way to do this is using a CSI (in fact, the CSI documentation even uses this exact scenario as a case study), and that’s what I’m probably going to implement here. But I’m wondering if any of you have other ideas of how to deal with this.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Patrick,
We use a CSI for any special seating that is purchased in advance. The ticketing rep also sends a Tickler from the CSI directly to the Front of House representative for the evening of the performance. You can change Tessitura's opening settings by going to:
TOOLS -> PREFERENCES -> under OPTIONS select VIEW TICKLERS AT STARTUP
This opens any active and unresolved Ticklers for the specific user, which flags the special seating for our FOH Rep. Like the CSI, the Tickler can be associated with a specific performance.
Our process is that the ticketing rep makes a note of special seating in the note field of the order which will print on the ticket header at Will Call, plus the above Tickler and CSI, on top of this the FOH Rep looks at the seat map for the night to notice any seat kills and wheelchair holds applied. All of this has ensured for us that no surprise situations happen 5 minutes before curtain.
Get Tickled!
