Referral Offers?

Hello all,

My organization has had a couple shows this season with strong word of mouth, and we want to set up a referral offer to encourage patrons to really sell these shows for us.  We want to be able to reward the original purchaser, rather than just giving them a discount to pass along to friends. We've never done this kind of offer before, so I'm wondering if any other orgs have done something like this, either directly through Tessitura, or through something like Facebook?

Thanks!

  • Hi Meghan, my organization has done something similar to this. We have an annual fundraising event with a 'host committee'. Host committee members are each given a unique promo-code to distribute to their friends. We track how many referrals each host committee member makes- then reward them with a free ticket when they've reached their goal. With 30+ host committee members, it did take some some time on the front end to set up those pricing rules (you can copy a pricing rule, to make the process go quicker). The promo-code was the individual's name and we provided them with a link they could post directly to social media. Depending on how many patrons you'd like to provide a code to, this could be a doable process to replicate. I'm not sure if there is a quicker way to generate a unique promo-code for individuals to distribute. I'll keep following the thread, as I think this is a great idea.
