Rules for "Pricing Rules?"

Hi!

I'm from ZACH Theatre (producing small/medium organization) and we don't really have any rules in place for setting Messaging Pricing Rules.

Currently we use Pricing Rule Messaging for cross-promotion in suggesting other productions at the Cart level online (TNEW), standard stuff.
Occasionally, Development will use this real estate to promote our Special Events/Galas/Fundraisers/etc.
This has all been working fine and there's been no issues with use of the real estate, but we're worried there might be at some point.

I was thinking about using a Google calendar to maintain the Messaging pricing rule "schedule" and eventually use Resource Scheduling for this purpose once we upgrade to v14+
But I was wondering if anyone out there was doing something different or effective. Either one helps! Thanks!
