NSCAN conundrum

Hello,

We are noticing that we have to do a full reboot of NSCAN to get them to recognize a show on any given day. We are using the TC20 scanners. I have the scanners set to search for shows based on facility ID as this works better for our campus and theater locations. We are using the Zebra Entrprise Device Lockdown program on the scanners so that only NSCAN is available. I'm wondering if that program is the issue and is not allowing NSCAN to be fully "closed" on the device, therefore the device profile doesn't reload for the new day. In previous organizations, I've only ever used the old Windows CE based scanners and never noticed this problem.

Help me Tessiturians....you're my only hope.

  • We've just gone live with the TC20's and are having to do a hard reboot before each performance, and then reload the profiles a handful of times during our Admittance period. It's extremely cumbersome. I've got a ticket in with Tessi, but has anyone else had this issue?

I haven't activated the Device Lockdown program yet.

  • We have the device lockdown on our TC20's and have to do this. I had assumed it was because of the lockdown app but it seems this may be a problem with the actual devices.

  • I implemented some changes at the suggestion of our ticket with the Help Desk, and over the weekend with our 6 performances, we experienced no connection issues! Sharing here in case it helps anyone else:

    1. Select 2.4 ghz band as the frequency for each device's wifi connection. This is found on the devices under Settings>Wi-Fi>click the menu elipses> Additional Settings> Wi-Fi Frequency Select Band> 2.4 ghz

    2. If you are having "Scan Click Errors" popping up, it could be due to the profiles loaded to the DataWedge Application. Stop the Nscan application, open DataWedge, and disable any profile that is not NScan.
