Base Price Indicator

We commonly use multiple price maps per price type.  However, we have only been marking 1 of those price maps with the Base Price check box.  I understand from the documentation that you can have more than 1 price map marked as Base, but my question is has anyone encountered any negative implications for doing that?

Reporting issues?  Capacity issues regarding seating? (I understand that the dollar capacity would be included in the new price map)

I've run this in Test, and I can't seem to find any major issues, but I can't help but have a feeling there was a reason we didn't do this in the first place.  And my brain won't recall the reason.

Help?

  • At the Young Vic, as seating is always unreserved, we will hold off specific seats of the customer's preference if they request it. The signs on the seats ("These seats are reserved for a customer with access needs in the name of Campbell") are removed five minutes prior to the start of the performance. A note is made as a Customer Service Issue: the Duty Manager pulls that report prior to the show and reserves those seats.

We offer a free ticket for a companion if the customer is not capacble of navigating the building on their own, in which case their ticket is charged at the full price. If they CAN navigate the building on their own, there's a reduced price we use for their ticket only.

    Hope this helps!
