BOGO with promo code

I'd like to create a Buy One Get One Free pricing rule for balcony seats at a specific performance that is activated only with a promo code. Here's what I've done:

  • created the appeal and source #
  • added row in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO to create a word for the promo code
  • created a pricing rule, type BOGO, with the appeal/source above, with price change of 50% for every 2 seats at the full price type in balcony applied to 2 of those seats
  • added the pricing rule to a pricing rule set

But it's not working. What am I missing? Does the price have to be adjustable? I don't need to create an offer b/c I'm not change price types, correct?

  • Hi Odele,

Is the pricing rule set associated with a MOS? And are all of your Date/Time settings on price types/sources/pricing rules falling within the same window of time?

    Cheers,

    Anne

  • Hi Odele,

When I create rules like this, I don't bother with attaching the appeal/source in the Constituent Criteria. The main thing is to add the row in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO to create a word for the promo code (like you've done), and then select the MOS that gets switched to when the promo code is entered. Ensure that your pricing rule is attached to a Pricing Rule Set, and that the MOS has that Pricing rule Set associated with it in Ticketing Setup. And no, you shouldn't need to create an offer.
Let us know how you get on!
