Two ticketing scenarios we're having issues with - any experience?

Hey there! We're experimenting with ways of enforcing two restrictions on ticket purchases and running into some difficulty. Has anyone found a way to configure for either of these cases?

A. Enforcing a limit of 2 kids price type tickets per 1 adult price type ticket – how to tie the price types together and how to enforce the limit

B. Enforcing a limit of 4 non-member tickets – there are three non-member price types, there needs to a limit of 4 for any combination of tickets with these price types

  1. Full price
  2. Children 6-17
  3. Children 5 and under

Right now for B we're using a price switch to a price type not attached to the performance so it triggers an error, but we're trying for something a little more elegant.

  • Hi Jim,

Is this something you are offering online?

I am struggling with a similar issue here for timed tickets- and haven't landed on a conclusively good solution - so I am keen to see what comes out of the Tessitura Hive-mind with this!  We have both paid and free children (based on both time of day and age), so that adds some further complexity to our scenario.  Particularly, that no children's tickets would be available until the adult (paid) ticket is in the cart.

Since we also do Member tickets for any variety of events, and those are based upon entitlements (customization),  it is something I thought might be partially solved with a pricing rule (or combination of rules), but until we see 14.1 with price type mapping within pricing rules, it may not work.  Also trying to work out how this could also allow for spillover into the Non-member ticket price types should a member be ordering beyond their limits, but perhaps not go beyond a total number of tickets.

    Thanks,

    Anne
