Ticket wait lists

Hey there,

Is anyone doing wait lists for tickets through any kind of software? Which software are you using, and what functionality does it have? We currently do not allow wait lists for tickets, due to the massive headache it would cause us without a pretty sophisticated system to help us manage it. But I think it would be a very good customer service piece if we could find a way to do it. Has anyone found something that you like a lot?

  • We played around with our in-person, night of show waitlist by creating unpaid unseated orders.  It was handy because it had the distinct time/date stamp for determining priority plus you could select their price type and price zone, too.  We didn't end up using it very often since we only take an official waitlist night of show. It  was a little time consuming to create orders for people that may not return to see if they get tickets or maybe we wouldn't even get any tickets back and it was orders created for nothing.  We simply take a waitlist on paper at the door.  It works!  :-)

  • Jenny, I'm glad you mentioned the night of show wait-list. Our pre-show wait-list ends the night before the performance.  We then have a night of show wait-list we take on paper, like you do, for those who show up and want to wait for tickets that may be released or returned.   We usually have some last minute holds that are always released night of.
