Reporting on Dynamic pricing income

Hi everyone.  We've been doing dynamic pricing for much of the season, and we've been struggling to come up with a good way to report on the incrememntal income, the additional money made by dynamic pricing.  For those of you doing dynamic pricing, how are you reporting on this?  Is it something in your price type or price map set up?  Is it a custom report?  Any advice would be appreciated.

  • We do custom reporting. When we report on sales by price type, We add the price of the ticket (Sum of Price Maps) to the label of the price type.

    Price Type

    Tickets Sold

    Dollars

    Standard ($25.00)

    10

    $250.00

    Standard ($30.00)

    12

    $360.00

    Standard ($35.00)

    14

    $490.00

  • We also have a custom report that tracks dynamic pricing and re-zoning of seats. There are things in it that are very site specific, but I'd be happy to share the code if there is interest.

  • David, I'd love to see this report if you're happy to share?

    Thanks

  • I am just about finished writing a report for us that displays this incremental income. The way we are using dynamic pricing is activating and deactivating price maps based on expiration.  The report I created assumes that in each price type the price map with the earliest start date is the "base" price map to to show how much extra income was brought in or last depending due to the new price maps.

We also have another report that tells use how full each zone is for a performance.  It gives out the percentage full for each zone as well as percentage full of the house for the performance.  certain levels get color coded to draw attention.

I too would like to see your report David.  I can also share our reports.

  • I just uploaded the SQL to my profile. As I mentioned, there are some very site specific things in the procedure. The code is documented, but if anyone has questions, just ask.

  • Attached are some screen shots of the report I am working on.

  • I just wanted to add that I just submitted our report to footprints.
