General Public Sales & Order Acknowledgements.

Hello,

For on the day door sales, our staff use a general public MOS and hand hard tickets to constituents which act as their tickets and receipts. We're wanting to try a more mobile solution whereby a customer is able to purchase a ticket from a staff member at the gallery entrance. The staff member will have an EFTPOS machine and a MS Surface tablet with Tessi running. We're trying to avoid having a BOCA printer there if we can. Is there a way that tickets and receipts can be emailed to a constituent through the general public MOS? I know you can elect to email to a different address already attached to a constituent, but wondering if there's a way our staff can type in the customers email address through 'print tickets' if no constituent is selected.

Thanks,

JH.

  • Hey Jerry,

Sadly out of the box, there isn't a way to add a different mailing address on a General Public order. You might be able to have some custom work done to adjust this. My thought would be to create a unique account for roving sales. That way you could enter alternate email addresses AND then be able to import them into whatever email service you use to market to them. It's not the best way to handle it, but is an easy way to do this without any custom work.

Concurrently, you could set Tessitura in T_Defaults to allow an account to be name and email address and remove the requirement for mailing address information. That's an easy way to create accounts on the fly and that way, you acquire basic information about your patron so you can market them in the future (which will make Marketing and Advancement very happy).

Hopefully that helps a little bit Jerry.
