CART_PRICING_RULES_ERROR

I have set up a pricing rule where if you buy 3 or more concerts, you save $5 on each concert. It was working fine as a Product Volume rule triggering a price change, but the box office wants the rule to trigger a price type change, not a price change. I switched it and now when I test it by selecting three eligible concerts, I get this error: CART_PRICING_RULES_ERROR and everything that was in the shopping cart is deleted. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what I'm missing. I can't find any documentation to help me determine what this message is referring to. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Diane

  • Hmmm, I say.

Have you tried it online lately? Maybe the cache has refreshed.

Yes, the price type that I am trying to switch to is associated with the web MOS and the web MOS is assigned to the pricing rule set.

Well, in lieu of logging in as the web user, how about we double-check and see if the price type is associated to the web user in Ticketing Setup just to rule that one out.

Thanks, Dot. I was able to sell the three concerts in the web MOS and the price type change occurred correctly. Just can't figure out why the same change won't occur when purchasing online. I'm sure I must be missing something simple.

Our set-up won't allow me to login as the Web user and purchase tickets. I'll have to look into that.

    Hey Diane

Two things that may help you find the root cause.

Try selling it in the client using the web MOS. If that works, login to the client as the Web user and try to get the rule to fire.

If you can't, it may be the price type is not associated to the web user or perhaps the rule is setup to use a specific source.

Have you verified that the price type you’re switching to is valid in the current MOS?

  • Yup, still not working. I've cleared the cache and cleared my browsing history many, many times and tried it on two different computers. I'm about ready to give up :(
