Hello,
We are new to tessitura and are plannign on using the gift card function. We'd like to find the most effiecent way to transfer the gift card numbers on to a gift certificate or gift card.
We'd like customers to have a slick looking gift card that we've designed (either plastic or nice cards stock) but want to find a way to get the redemption number on there in the most effecent way possible.
Any thought would be very welcome!
Hello R. J.,
I am currently in this same predicament. We are fairly new here as well and we have decided to start issuing gift cards. i have done my research and found a company that is fairly cheap creating gift cards. Here is the website that i have found, www.4colorprint.com. They will also send you samples so that you can see and feel the difference in their card stock.
I see that you have posted this five months ago, did you receive any information regarding this?
Thanks,

Thanks ! you are the first person to respond to this. I will say that right now we are using gift certificates on card stock. We hand write the ID number on the card. It works fairly well but is a bit labor intensive. I will check out the company. How do you deal with adding on the gift card ID numbers (i.e. numbers that customers enter to redeem the card)?
We haven't started selling them yet. I've been trying to find documentation on how to create/generate a GC # & sell GC. I've comb through TN and can find any information. I haven't gotten to he part where i have to assign the cards.
Hi Linae,
You can find the documentation for Gift Certificates in the main documentation, under the "Payment Methods" section. Here is a direct link: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v125/Content/Gift%20Certificates/Gift%20Certificate%20Overview.htm On that page, click the link that says "Open Topic in Full Help System"
You will need to create a payment method for Gift Certificates. Once you do, this page will tell you specifically how to sell it: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v125/Content/Gift%20Certificates/Selling%20a%20Gift%20Certificate.htm There is also information about designing the receipt, which is printed on a ticket printer and serves as the gift certificate for the customer.

Hi RJ! I wonder if you're using the Gift Certificate Batch Printing utility. You'll find the documentation for it here: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v125/Content/Gift%20Certificates/Batch%20Printing%20Gift%20Certificates.htm When you run that utility to identify a set of recently sold certificates, you can merge the data directly into a Word document. That Word document can be designed to be the size of your card stock, and the Gift Certificate number can be included in the output.
If you'd like more information on merging data from Tessitura into Word, there is a webinar here: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Items/Videos/Training/Merging_Tess_Data
Hello Michael,
If you are still trying to decide if you will start using Plastic Gift cards. Well after a lot of conversations with Tessitura and Silk Cards, we have chosen to use them. We will just write the gift card code that Tessitura produces in the sale on the card with an Waterproof permanent marker. I have inserted what what it will look like so that maybe you can use the same idea as well. Also the information that we chose to use so that it will be compatible with Tessitura.
