Constituent Record Notifications

Hi there-

I've searched the forums for an answer to this inquiry, but the closest answer to my question was posted in 2012; hoping to get a more complete answer today. In our membership department, it is often helpful to have some kind of notification appear on the screen when opening certain member records. The post from 2012 I read stated that the "alert" system was not yet implemented. Has this since changed? If so, is this something that must be set up via coding or can it be utilized otherwise? Thank you for any assistance.

  • What kind of alert are you looking for? If it's simply just a flag for the staff member to notice then you could do this as a constituency or perhaps a unique spot on the constituent header. If it's something more complex (ex. a specific message you'd like the display) then I'm not sure if that's possible from the constituent record. As Nick mentioned you could set something up to pop up in the orders screen under certain conditions.

    Thanks for your replies. I am looking for more of a way to attach specific messages to specific constituents. For example, if a high level donor came in, we would like to attach a notification on the record to "please notify so-and-so that this person is in the building", or if there are security risks that employees need to be aware of when a certain person checks in. The pricing rule idea could work, but it sounds like our needs may be more constituent specific than what Tessitura can offer at this time. 

  • If you use N-Scan, you can set up notifications to alert staff when a patron has scanned their ticket.  Look in the N-Scan document under 'N-Scan Email Notifications'.
