I'm creating a new facility and have set the best seat zones center, right and left. For our left and right sections, I've chose the Horizontal fill pattern to be filled center out.
When seating patrons, will the best seating automatically choose the center aisle or is there somewhere else I can let Tessitura know we would like best seating to begin in the center aisle as opposed to the outer aisle.
Does this have anything to with contiguity?
It’s been a while since I’ve worked on best seating, but, yes, contiguity matters.

Hi Monica,
It has everything to do with contiguity. You should take a look at the Facility Setup document which explains contiguity and fill patterns in detail (with diagrams): http://www.tessituranetwork.com/~/media/Documentation/Ticketing/Facility_Setup.ashx
To give you a quick answer to get you started, the Center Out fill patter is probably not the fill pattern you want. It doesn’t mean fill seats from the center of the map out, it means fill seats from the center of the contiguity row out. So most likely that means it will start in the middle of the rows in your right and left sections and move out from there, meaning it won’t start with either aisle seat. I say most likely because it depends on how your contiguity is applied and how your best seat zones are applied. Most likely though you are going to want Front to Back or Back to Front. Those options start at one end of the contiguity row and move to the other. You can start at the low contiguity seat value (the “front” of the contiguity values) or the high contiguity seat value (the “back “ of contiguity values). Which option you want depends on whether the seats on the center aisle have the high contiguity value or the low contiguity value.
