TRBO

We want to experiment with TRBO for our concession sales. I would be interested in knowing what "consumer" based tablets organizations are using for TRBO.

Thanks

Bob

  • We're probably going to be testing ours (arriving in a week) at an add on exhibit that we host (small dollar amounts, high volume). One limitation we're concerned about is that we've been told the TRBO tablets are only useful for credit card only transactions. I'm happy to share results from our experiments with them. Melanie
  • We use TRBO for our Gift Shop and find that a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 works very well. However it's true that TRBO only does credit card sales and not cash or check.
  • Hi - I was wondering if you have had any success using TRBO for concession/gift shop sales. We are thinking about using it for in-theatre concession quick sales and wanted to see if anyone finds this as a good solution. Howard

  • I configured TRBO on an Amazon Kindle Fire. My advice to you is that the process is easy if you use the exact Hardware Tessitura specifies which is out of date and expensive. You must make sure that you use the correct version of Android (I believe Jelly Bean or greater) and in addition you have make sure the card swipe is also compatible. I had it working with an Amazon Fire Version 8 but there is not compatible credit card swipe.  If you just want to see how hard or easy it would be to setup up TRBO for quick sales and Merchandise just get a cheap Fire and at least you can see from a configuration perspective.

I’m just going to wait until an IOS version is available.

  • Hi Howard,

We didn't end up going with TRBO for the café or concessions in the end.  A big limiting factor to our use of TRBO is the lack of ability for cash or check transactions.

  • Hi Robert,

It seems that your TRBO is in use already. We are configuring our TRBO right now and have some problem at the "check out" page. We are able to see "Quick Sale layout" and able to place an order into the cart. But when I click "Pay" and it goes to "check out" page, I notice that the "check out" page is not enabled. It seems it does not recognize any customer information nor any other order information. Are you able to give me some suggestion on what happened on our TRBO setup?

    Thank you in advance.
