Setting up performances when start date is not known

We have a lecture series that we sell in advance of knowing the actual event dates. Although we will continue to sell as individual events, we also plan to sell as package this upcoming season. Can performances be set up with "temporary" dates so that we can sell (payment is required for seating and ticketing) in the Spring and then update with confirmed dates prior to printing tickets.  This is not a scenario we had when setting up Tessitura for our current season).  I am not clear on what can be changed after a performance is sold.  Thanks in advance, Marina, Office Manager, BIG ARTS, Sanibel, FL.

  • Hi Marina,

I sell everything for the next year (1,000-ish events)without having dates confirmed…  once our calendar is set, I go back in and change all the dates, and I believe we also re-run a full ticket history load in the back end.  The only thing I would caution is to PROOF YOUR CHANGES!  Otherwise, it’s not too bad.

    Cheers

    Kathleen

  • Thank you...that is reassuring.   A follow up question if you don’t mind.  What are you referring to when you mention the “re-run of a full ticket history load in the back end”   Is this something I should be looking into. This is not something I recall discussing as we set up our current season. (we began using in November.
