Your Tessitura Users Group

I don't know if this will help you, since I'm not sure how long your group has been on Tessitura.  The Science Museum is a still a new-ish licensee, on for about 2 years, so we still have a lot of things to accomplish. 

I help coordinate our user group, which meets every 2 weeks.  The group is run by consensus; there's no specific authority figure who makes decisions.  Basically, anything that affects most departments or is a system-wide issue gets brought to this group.  I keep a log of all the topics anyone suggests, and we spend five minutes at the end of each meeting deciding what topic we'd like to tackle next.  This serves two purposes: it keeps the users engaged, and it lets people know in advance whether they need to attend.  For example, there are many topics that don't affect the web staff, so they know they don't need to come.  Keeps people from feeling like the meetings are unproductive for them.

In terms of what we cover, it's all over the map.  We have lots of standardization things, new procedures, etc; eg we just finished getting ready to use the new NCOA process, and now we have added to our list that we should re-examine how we handle addresses in general, as NCOA is rather a game changer.  We find that there is always some functionality that we want to grow in or some procedure that could work better, so there's no dearth of work.

Hi guys,

We have a Tessitura users group that meets once a month. Last year it took an angle that was a little dull, ticking boxes really - basically outstanding items that hadn’t been completed which really didn't have much to do with all of the people attending the meeting and those attending come from all departments, people who live in the system on a daily basis and those who touch it once a week!

So i want to know about what you guys are doing out there for your user groups?

Anyone really engaging their users in these meetings? Doing anything funky?
