Creative Solution for Assigning Reminders?

Hi everyone,

We are working to have cross-departmental staff assign CSI reminders to each other, particularly on issues of tickets for members/partners.

From what I can tell, users can only assign CSI Reminders to A) other users in their user group, or B) a user group they have manager rights over.

I'm between a rock and a hard place in how to set this up.  Taking the Box Office Manager who needs to assign a CSI to a Devo officer who books gifts -

If I go with option A, and make the Devo staffperson a member of the Box Office Manager user group, the Devo gift officer could feasibly log into that user group and start deleting performances.

But if I go with option B, and make the Box Office Manager user with Manager rights over the Devo Gift Entry user group, then the Box Office Manager could claim, post, and edit the Devo Gift Officers batches...

Has anyone faced this similar problem and come up with a brilliant solution?

I trust all of our users, so I'm not really worried about this being an active problem, but it seems wise to set it up with the least amount of wiggle room possible...

Thanks!

Frannie

    Hi Frannie

There's actually a solution for this in the Help, under Management Rights For Reminder Assignments.

    It says:

Reminder assignment user groups can be created to work around this constraint using management rights.

In a reminder assignment user group, all users have management rights to the user group, allowing each user in the group to assign reminders to any other user in the group.

A reminder assignment user group may be comprised of all managers in an organization, all users in an organization, or a select combination of managers and users.
Users assigned to a reminder assignment user group do not need to log in to Tessitura under this user group in order to assign reminders to other users in the group, it is enough simply to be a member of the group.

Because of this, reminder assignment user groups do not need to have rights to any security objects and will not undermine the regular security structure.
