Order Payment Schedule Defaults

Hello, I have a question about setting up default dates for order payment schedule within an order. I have been able to successfully create a payment plan schedule within TR_Billing_Schedule. However, when I open the payment chicklet in an order, the default dates provided ("beginning" and "ending") are all wonky. At present, it lists the "beginning" as today's date and the "ending" as January 1, 2017. Is there a way I can change these default dates in my MOS? I cannot seem to find any way to do it, though it would be really helpful. Yes, I can manually adjust it before I enter the payment plan, but it would be really great to have this done automatically.
