Rolling into a GA-general admission house from seated

We are discussing moving one of the seated performance in our season to a GA house next season. This would be fewer seats and I'm not sure how to handle it. They are discussing extending the performance for two more weeks to accommodate all of the subscribers but I'm not sure how to wrap my brain around it.

We are one of the theaters that does not know it's season until later in the summer so I have to do two rollovers. One into vouchers. The second one is rolling the paid vouchers into the live performances once I've built the season. So I don't even know which performance it will be yet.

Any ideas?

  • Thanks Kathleen.
This is a consideration for one part of the problem-the two rollovers, but I'm not sure about the rolling the GA house thing.
I like this idea of making up the dates and just changing them later. I'm kind of worried about the confirmations we send out that will have these dates on it. I'll have to run the idea past our database people at Lynch2 and see what they think. It may save me one big headache though.
I may have to call you to get the jist of how you guys handle communicating with your subscribers when doing this.

    Thanks again.

FYI- We get a couple of people a year that buy tickets from us and meant to buy tickets for you guys. Ha!

    Hi Adria,

I don’t know until the end of August every year what our shows are and what specific dates they’ll be, and we start resubscription in February!  I build out the season using best guess dates based on the current calendar, and use placeholder names like ‘Show 1’ and ‘Show 2’, so I don’t have to do two rollovers (kind of scary when I’ve got 375+packages!).  Once everything is confirmed, replace the placeholders with real names, and change perf dates if I have to.  And, our venues aren’t the same size, so there’s a lot of ‘fun’ stuff to make the packages work.
