Hi All,
We are fairly new to Tessitura and when we originally setup our season we did not put any Publish Dates on the performances. I am wondering if other users leave this blank or if you fill it in how long do you leave it published after the performance. We are getting ready to start our 2017 season sales so I'm wondering if it would help to have all the 2016 performances inactivate when they are over at the end of the day.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Daniel,
I don’t put publish *client* dates on any of my shows, but I make sure the Modes of Sale are set to just after the performance time. I do, however, set web publish dates to end at performance time. We don’t want people to see ‘old’ things and get confused.
Cheers,
Kathleen

Hello Daniel,
We make sure to use Web Publish Start/End dates to control what the patrons see on the website regarding on-sales and old performances like Kathleen says as well.
For Client Publish Start/End dates, the only time we really use those is to hide things from Season Manager which either do not need to be seen there or are just cluttering it up. For example, we have three venues and we sell prepaid valet passes for all performances in our main venue. Given that, our Box Office staff does not need to see the valet pass performance to know that it is there, meanwhile its presence would clutter up the view if we have events going on in multiple venues that day, particularly if we have multiple showings on top of that. So we hide valet events by setting the client Start/End dates before the day we built them. We also do the same sort of thing for the comp vouchers we issue, but that is about it for Publish Client dates for us.
As for old performances, on the other hand, we find it immensely useful to be able to go back and reference them if need be by looking at attendance and sales information in a very quick overview through season manager. My two cents, I would keep regular past events as visible unless there is some other reason as to why they need to be hidden.
