Calendar Text Time

Hi There!

I recently learned about the TR_Calendar_Text table and find that it will be very useful for our reps! We are using to differentiate the different dance programs of the same company (usually program A vs. program B). However, for some days, there are two performances with different programs and was hoping that the date and hour time within the table would be able to layer the text and performances, but that is not the case. Would anyone know why there the option to edit the hour, if it is not being applied? My initial thought is that devo just needed some coding for a date and just pulled the time along with it.

My temporary work around for now unless someone has an alternate option. Click me!

Thanks!

  • Hi Joe,

Something else you could do is use VS_NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE. This was new in V12.5. You have the ability to create specific messaging and through notification type, you can control group the messages. You could also use User Group so that the messaging appears only to specific user groups upon login. You have the ability to control the dates and time when these messages appear and the length of time the message window stays open (in T_DEFAULTS). This would be a great way to communicate to front-line workers anything special about that days business.

  • Thanks for the suggestion Skypp. I think we are going to leave the times as times as we do not want to confuse our reps too much in over thinking the differences between all the letters (A, B, M & E--its not alot, but it looked a bit confusing to me when I played with it). But will definitely keep it in mind for the future if need be.

Thanks Chris! We currently use messaging notifications for our curtain chat and family matinee performances which is nor more than once a run (if at all). The downfall that we have run into with using the messaging as of now, is that the message for a specific performance only appears once a seat is selected (which I think is triggered by the sub line item sine prices are attached). Right now the message type is currently listed at the orders window level. I'm hoping to discover a message that pertains to a performance specifically once the seat map is clicked. I know you can add Message Rule Types, but I don't have the knowledge. Maybe you have some insight on that? I feel like it would be (house view) or (seat selection) or (seat map), etc. But, I don't think we want to use Program A vs B in messaging because it may take quite some time to toggle between each of the performances, especially for the 2-3 week runs.

  • Actually Joe...the messaging I'm referring to is not part of pricing rules. I suggest going to help and looking for the system table VS_NOTIFICATION_MESSAGE. This is messaging you can set up that pops up right as a user logs in. It's pretty neat. You may not see this in your system table selection so you would either need to add it from Security or have your system admin give you that table.
