Hello folks,
Has anyone else explored (or succeeded??) offering gift certs at a discount online? I.e., pay $80 and receive a GC with a $100 value....
Everything I've looked at so far suggests Tess/TNEW can't do this, at least not without some customization, or a halfassed workaround like directing customers to purchase the $80 value and then manually issuing a second GC for the remaining amount.
Any ideas/insight welcomed.
Thanks, Herb
We do something similar on the black Friday/cyber Monday – here is a link to a page which is no longer linked on our live site since the offer is over now; but you can see how we word it. This has been VERY successful for us over that weekend. We do the same and use a payment type. Doesn’t seem the stop folks from buying them online.

We're offering a holiday promotion where if you spend $100 on gift certificates, you get a $25 bonus. Unfortunately the ticket office just has to manually add the $25 bonus to any gift certificates sold online and we created a special payment method to pay off the $25 bonus. The marketing messaging informs patrons that their bonus will be added later.
