Box Office Signage and Terminology

Greetings All,

We are looking into changing some of the terminology in our lobby box offices. Currently we have a "will call" box office for patrons to pick up tickets prior to a show, and an "advanced sells" box office for walk-in orders.

Does anyone use other names for their box offices? I would appreciate any input you would care to share.

  • Hi Joshua,

Here at The 5th Avenue Theatre we call our department that includes the ticket office and front of house as guest services. We are making a company wide effort to refer to our patrons as guests instead. This ties in with our efforts to make every visit more of an experience. We have even started using Plans for our guest services team to have a portfolio of subscribers. Each guest services team member is responsible for the guests in their portfolio. Each staff member is sending a personalized email, that is not a sales email, introducing that staff member to each guest and letting them know they are their to help them personally. What was really great about this email is the guest services staff member also put in the email what they enjoy about being employed here. It really is a great effort to make our patrons understand that they are our guests and we are glad they are here.
