We're starting to require renters at our facility to use our box office only.
This has created a hot debate between ticketing, executive and finance about costs/charges. I suggested a per ticket fee for non-profits and and flat fee for commercial renters along with repayment of credit card fees against actual credit card transactions on their.
Would anyone be willing to share how you manage?
What fees you charge?
We are a new organization in our fourth season and are trying to find what will serve everyone well and thought we could learn much forom those who have come before us!

Hi Michelle,
We've done something very similar to what you've described with non-profit vs. for profit, but the fees are charged to the customer, not to the renter. We do also charge a standard setup fee for me to setup the event in Tessitura.
We've also limited the number of comps they can get for their event so as to ensure that all sales are coming through us. We do charge the renter a per ticket handling fee for any comps they require as well.
