I'm really hoping someone here can help me out. I recently purchased a Symbol LS2208, upon the recommendation of various Tess documents. We are not using NScan, so I've been told that the scanner must be programmed to add a Start and Stop sentinel. I've downloaded ADF programming guide, which is 325 pages long, 123Scan software and nothing seems to work, or more accurately,I'm not programming the scanner correctly.
I'm hoping that someone else here has this same scanner and has successfully programmed it to recognize Tess barcodes. FYI, it does recognize all other non-Tess barcodes that I scan. Thank you, thank you thank you!

I've successfully configured a small group of LS2208s that we purchased a couple of years ago. Once we got the 123Scan software to work, it was pretty easy to figure out how to program the sentinels (a 325-page programming guide was not necessary).
The problem was that the version of the scanner hardware we got was not recognized by the 123Scan software — it was too new and the software package hadn't been updated with the "hardware plugin" yet (and wasn't pulling it down through automatic updates like it was supposed to). We contacted support via the vendor (barcodesinc.com) we purchased the scanners through, and they were able to provide a hardware plugin to add to the 123Scan software. In the slim chance that you are dealing with the exact same hardware combination, I've uploaded this plugin to my files: LS2208-COMMON MODELS...
Hope this helps. Ultimately, if you can't get the 123Scan software to work, you should call the vendor for support (or return if they can't offer support).
