Undo Donate for Resale after ticket has already been resold

I need to issue a refund for a ticket that was accidentally donated for resale. Unfortunately before I knew I needed to do the refund the ticket ticket was already resold, so I can't undo the donation and refund it that way.

Any suggestions for how to issue a refund and remove the ticket donation without affecting the person who re-bought the ticket?

Thanks!

  • There is a way! If you check out the Documentation & System Help and search "Reversing a Seat Donation" that may give you what you are looking for! :)

I am wondering if there is someway to move the donation onto the constituents "On Account" bank and then go into one of their orders and just moved the money back to a credit card from "On Account". I just am not sure where the money lives until it is processed as a donation to move to the "On Account" bank.

That way you don't have to really undo the donation, just move the money around from bank to bank. If this route works out, be sure that your Devo team does not send them an acknowledgement letter.

    Thanks Joe,

I know about reversing a seat donation, but that only works if the seat hasn't already been resold.

That's the problem, the seat's already been resold so there isn't a standard way to make the return.
