Changing the default time on the Pricing Rules Notification display.

I'm trying to adjust the length of time a pricing rule message displays in the application. I found what I believe is the right line in the T_DEFAULTS table: Notification_Display_Seconds. 

The default is set to 5 seconds but we'd like it to stay longer. I've changed the time, first to 0 so it doesn't close automatically, and I've tried just adding a longer time but it's still only staying open for 5 seconds and then closing automatically. 

Anyone with experience with this? Is there something else that needs to be done other than changing the Default Value in the System Table?

  • Hi Matthew, Just noticed this as well. Not sure if you found a solution. When I log in with my system admin account the message says until I click on it but for all other users it disappears after 5 seconds, which is too short for longer messages. I'll try and find out what the problem is and update here if I can. If not I'll raise with TASK and see if there is something I'm missing. Jamie.
  • Hi Matt, I think I may have found the problem. I think you need to change the 'Parent Table' setting for the 'Notification_Display_Seconds' in T_DEFAULTS. We used to be part of a consortium so my login uses Impresario as the org (in security application) and others use Theatre Royal. Previously our 'Notification_Display_Seconds' Parent Table was set to Impresario by default and I've changed it to Theatre royal and it now works and doesn't disappear after 5 seconds.
