Howdy,
If there is a pricing rule veteran out there willing to give us some advice we'd greatly appreciate the help. We've viewed all of the videos and documentation, but still can't seem to get a 10% discount to automatically apply to desired shows when booked in the order module. Pricing rules for dummies, anyone? Even if you just have a basic step by step list for setup, that would be a huge help to try and figure out what step we're missing.

Have you attached your rule to a rule set? and then assigned that rule set to the MOS you are using?

I am now struggling with this same issue. I have everything set up for pricing rules, read everything, watched everything, but my pricing rules aren't working. I was thinking it was a security or system tables issue but, that all checks out. I just seen Viviana's post about creating a Sales Layout and attaching it to the Default Sales Layout... Is this the answer to my issue? If so, it does seem weird to me as well especially since we do not use Quick Sale.

What John and Tim mentioned earlier are the most common reasons pricing rules may not be working. Did you assign the Pricing Rule Set you created to the MOS to be used at the Mode of Sale tab of the Mode of Sale menu item of Ticketing Setup?
Is the Category assigned to your Pricing Rule even if you have only one category? Finally, I would check to see if correct performances are assigned to the pricing rule. I had to remedy the first two of three items above, and in that order, before I was able to make it work for me.

I went back through and checked everything and then created the Sales Layout and attached it to the MOS as well and Wa La! Everything works now.
So, the question remains: Why? What does the Sales Layout have to do with Pricing Rules? Kevin?
