Resales Available Online

Hi everyone, this is Johnny from Garsington Opera.

We want to start showing tickets available online that have been returned to us for resale. Does anyone currently do this and could you let me know how you keep track of those seats that have been resold?

Currently, we only issue a refund if the original ticket has been sold so, we need to be able to keep track of the financial side of things as well (rather than just use the donate for resale button).

We are on TNEW and I gather than the 'break hold code' function isn't therefore an option for us...

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • I'm a bit confused by your question, which at first seems to be about offering "donate for resale" tickets online, but then raises concerns about tracking and refunds. But I will say that we are on TNEW, and we use the "Donate for Resale" functionality, but there is a system tweak we had to make in order for holds to work properly.

By default, if TNEW is allowed to sell seats with the "Donated for Resale" status, any holds placed on that seat will not actually restrict them from being purchased like they are in the client. To change this, the TR_SEAT_STATUS table can be modified (at your own risk), changing the priority of "Donated for Resale" from 75 to 15.

As for tracking resales, I'm pretty sure most of the sales reports have modes for including resold seats or not. You also have the option of diverting revenue from resold tickets to a different GL, in ticketing setup.
