What makes Mobile Ticketing an artform?

Hi, everyone: 

I'm planning a session at TLCC this year about how the public use the technology we work on. We're looking at beacons, apps, kiosks - and, crucially, mobile ticketing.

We all understand this is an important area for us all, but what elevates the mobile ticketing experience above the ordinary and into an artform? Are any of you using NFC payments, or integrating with Passbook? Have you, as a customer, been really impressed with someone else's mobile purchase path? Why?

I'm looking for a presenter on this subject for the TLCC session - but, personally, I'm also really curious to hear your views on this subject!
