Pre-printing tickets

We are wanting to offer a pre-printing ticket service to Rentals that use our facility. Since we are not actually selling the tickets, we need to make sure that Tessitura is balanced. How have other organizations handled this?

Thanks,

  • We're doing that for customers right now. What we did was create a seperate season in Tessitura for "custom tickets" and then build in the shows like a regular show.

As for paying for them we created a fake GL that we associate the ticket price to so that we know within the reporting that it's not real money but then we can see how much money has gone through the building.

We also created another event to pay for the ticket printing with a setup fee that is the same for everyone and a variable price type because we charge a per ticket printing fee as well. We created a seperate GL for these from the fake GL's.

    Hope this helps.

We actually handle it differently than Meagan. We have many varibles for rental clients, some we do not sell at all and others we will sell a certain percent and they sell a certain percent so, I build a consignment price type with a $0 price and attach it to each of the rentals as well as the regular price types.

Then, in Ticket Design I have a consignment ticket design that I have to insert the correct price into the text fields before I print the tickets. My consignment ticket design also says consignment on them so if there are issues with a patron we know that they did not purchase the ticket from us. This process can be a little cumbersome if you have multiple prices, but it works for us and allows us to be able to pull one ticket report showing everything.

    I hope this helps,
